Working with Animals in a Wellbeing Setting
Working with Animals
Animals will form an important part of the Merry Moos environment, supporting wellbeing through calm, everyday interaction and routine farm activity.
The farm will include cattle and ponies as part of a managed, working setting, where their care becomes part of the daily rhythm of the farm.
Interaction with animals will be a natural part of the experience, helping build confidence, routine and connection in a non-clinical environment.

Molly the Pig
Molly & Polly
Molly was a nine‑year‑old Duroc, originally bred by Pip, with a big personality and a tendency to cause a bit of chaos before looking completely innocent!
Alongside her daughter Polly, they were part of Pip’s earlier farming life and much‑loved for many years.
Sadly, Molly and Polly passed away before the project could be brought to life, but they remain an important part of the story behind Merry Moos. The photos shared reflect happier times and the connection between people, animals and life on the farm.
They are part of what helped shape the thinking behind Merry Moos.

Polly the Pig
Seven year old Polly is Molly the Pig’s little girl… but not so little, and not very lady like! Just like her Mum, Polly loves a Morrison’s jam donut and a good belly scratch.
Polly is happiest when living with her Mum, Molly. If she sees Mum getting something, she’ll want it too.
Being part of the Merry Moos Animal Sanctury means Polly will spend the rest of her natural life being fed Morrisons jam donuts and looked after by the people working on the farm.
